Regional Executive Vice-President: Québec
Jérôme Turcq
Jérôme Turcq is the Public Service Alliance of Canada Regional Executive Vice-President (REVP) for Québec. He was re-elected on May 15, 2005 at the PSAC-Québec's fifth Regional Convention held in Montréal.
Jérôme is responsible for various PSAC activities in the Québec region. He chairs the PSAC-Québec Council, is Vice-President of the Québec Federation of Labour (QFL) and is a member of the Solidarity Fund QFL Board of Directors.
Regionally, he is responsible for organizing, education, political and social action, women's and equity programs, Area Councils, Directly Chartered Locals and separate employers.
At the national level, Jérôme has exclusive responsibility for the Finance portfolio and oversees bargaining for the following group:
- Frontière/Border Services (FB)
Jérôme has shared responsibility for:
- Official Languages
- Organizing
- Finance and Investments
He represents the PSAC on the Public Service Pension Advisory Committee and is a member of the the following National Board of Directors committees:
- Finance
- Strike Fund
Prior to his election as REVP in 2000, Jérôme was Executive Vice-President for the Union of National Defence Employees (UNDE), one of PSAC's 17 Components. In that position, he dealt primarily with the management of the administrative staff, anti-privatization within the Department of National Defence and education. He was Regional Vice-President for UNDE in Québec from 1991 to 1996, and UNDE Vice-President, Québec, from 1996 to 1999.
He has been active in the PSAC since the mid-1980s and has held various positions in his Local. He was a strike captain during the 1991 federal public service national strike, and worked jointly with the Québec Federation of Labour (QFL) as area coordinator during the PSAC Operational Group (Table 2) strike in 1999. In addition, Jérôme represented PSAC on the Canada Labour Congress (CLC) International Committee in 1999 and on the CLC Constitution Committee in 2002.Date Modified : 2010/01/29
