National campaign established to eliminate regional rates of pay

For updated information on the pay zones, visit the Pay zone section of this website.

The PSAC National Zone Committee that was struck to campaign towards the elimination of regional rates of pay met on December 19th to strategize around the Federal election and future bargaining.

The PSAC National Zone Committee has decided that the election campaign lobbying would primarily focus on the membership that is covered under Treasury Board collective agreements. The Committee agreed that it is appropriate for the Treasury Board group to take the lead on this issue as they represent the largest group affected by regional rates of pay. It is also fully expected that any movement towards the elimination of regional rates of pay at the Treasury Board would be replicated by employers such Parks Canada, Canada Revenue Agency and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

As part of the federal election strategy the PSAC National Zone Committee has developed the following lobbying tools for meetings with politicians during and after the election campaign.

The PSAC National Zone Committee consists of the following members:

  • Robyn Benson, Regional Executive Vice President, Prairies
  • Gerry Halabecki, Regional Executive Vice President, Ontario
