Women's equality
Help us to fightback for women's equality
If you want to read more on this issue before you take action, go back to our index page and continue your reading.
But if you are ready, here is what you can do for a renewed Status of Women Canada:
-
Read the Submission presented by the PSAC on December 15 to protest the cuts at Status of Women Canada.
-
Support the PSAC members working at SWC. Send them an email! Close to 40 PSAC members will be losing their jobs on April 1 st , 2007 . Others will remain in place and do their best to fulfill SWC's mandate. Tell them we appreciate all their work on behalf of all Canadian women. Let them know we believe in women's equality. Let them know we are fighting back!
-
Use our Email your MP service to write to Stephen Harper, Bev Oda and your MP. Tell them you oppose the recent cuts to Status of Women Canada. Tell them your story. Tell them why women's equality matters to you. Tell them what we want. Ask them what they are prepared to do to make this happen. Tell them you'll be watching. Email your letter now.
-
Join the December 10 th Campaign for Women's Equality and Human Rights . December 10 th is International Human Rights Day. Women will be mobilizing to ensure Prime Minister Harper meets his pre-election commitments to women's equality and human rights. Visit the Canadian Feminist Alliance for International Action website for more details.
-
Don't keep this to yourself… share it around! Raise it at your Regional Women's Committee, your Human Rights Committee, your Regional Council. Encourage them to write letters, to meet with their MPs.
-
Share your ideas. Let us know what you're up to! Send us an email. We'll share the good ideas around!
