The Work Reorganization Program
Technological Change
The introduction of new equipment, materials, and changes in work processes
are a constant feature in todays workplace. Technological
change carries the potential to either improve the work environment
or to severely undermine the interests of union members. Much depends
on how the new technology is introduced and managed.
The Alliance is responding to the challenge of technological change by
achieving protection in the collective agreement, holding employers accountable
to abide by the contract language, and educating members about their
rights and the potential consequences of tech change.
