Pay Equity Task Force report
key to future of pay equity
OTTAWA – The Public Service
Alliance of Canada (PSAC) is eagerly looking forward to the release
of the long-awaited report of the federal government's Pay Equity
Task Force. The union, with its considerable experience with the
current pay equity legislation, was an active participant in the
Task Force hearings and consultations.
The PSAC has been the leader
in achieving pay equity for federal public sector workers.
Its 16-year complaint against the federal government resulted in
pay equity payments of over $3-billion for over 200,000 current
and former PSAC members.
PSAC National President Nycole
Turmel will be available to comment on the Task Force report after
its release.
