CFIA negotiations: Notice to Bargain

Less than a week after the official signing of a new collective agreement, the PSAC-CFIA negotiating team served a Notice to Bargain to the CFIA.

The team will soon be in discussions with CFIA management to set a date for the exchange of bargaining demands. Once the demands are exchanged, preliminary meetings will be held to review each party's demands, to provide explanations and to answer questions. Dates will also be set for the negotiations.

The newly signed one-year agreement, which will expire at the end of 2007, provides 4,500 PSAC members with a salary increase of 2.5% effective January 1, 2007.
