December 14, 2007 Statistical Survey Operations Bargaining Units SSO negotiating teams ready to bargainNegotiating teams for the two Statistical Survey Operations bargaining units were elected in November at the SSO National Bargaining Conference held in Ottawa. Representing the Regional Office Interviewers are Rejean Amyotte (Central), Jeanne Elson (East), and Rudy Mehra (West). Alternates are Joe Zsoka (Central), Kathleen Higgins (East), and Debra Gyde (West). The Field Interviewers team includes National Component Executive Vice-President Mary Anne Walker (Central); Geraldine Fortin (East), and Donna Henry (West). Alternates are Evelyn Beckert (Central), Patricia LeBlanc (East) and Dona Wheaton (West). The elections capped a four-day meeting at which delegates reviewed bargaining proposals from SSO locals across the country and prioritized the demands, assisted by Negotiator Gail Lem and Research Officer Elisabeth Woods. The teams are seeking bargaining dates with the employer early in the New Year. Delegates at the conference also paid tribute to Diane McArthur, President of Local 20140 in Abbotsford, B.C., who has served the members both as a bargaining team member and at the level of the joint union-management consultative committee.
