World Aids Day

The PSAC joins the Canadian Labour Congress in calling for leadership by the federal government in the fight against HIV/AIDS. While the government remains silent, unions are working in solidarity with workers world-wide in their workplaces and communities to put in place preventative measures and to ensure access to health care and treatment.

PSAC recognizes HIV/AIDs is a global issue and a trade union issue, and PSAC's Social Justice Fund is funding a project to support the Nigerian Labour Congress in their fight to stop the further spread of the HIV virus and reduce its impact among workers and their families.

PSAC supports the CLC's call for the federal government to immediately renew funding for the Global Fund on HIV/AIDS.
