Negotiations Yield Tentative Agreement at the Royal Canadian Mint
Your PSAC Mint Bargaining Team reached a tentative agreement with the Royal Canadian Mint on April 11. Highlights of the three-year deal include a 3 per cent wage increase in each year, increased shift premiums and the recognition of seniority as the criteria for appointment to term assignments. The tentative agreement also contains a resolution to outstanding classification issues and the role of the Joint Job Evaluation Committee. The tentative agreement includes a grievance process specifically for classification issues and provides for the resolution of three classification grievances. The Classification Plan will form part of the collective agreement that cannot be changed without written agreement by both the employer and the PSAC. The Team also negotiated 12-month recall rights for employees with less seniority, an apprenticeship program for Assayers and Assay Technicians and a $500 bonus.
