PSAC's Big Bargaining Video Challenge

Could you be the next Michael Moore or Steven Spielberg?

Here's your chance to show your filmmaking talents at the PSAC's Big Bargaining Video Challenge.

We invite members under collective agreements with Treasury Board, Parks Canada Agency and CFIA to send us a short video featuring one of the following themes:

  1. Horrors of privatization and contracting out.
  2. What we'd like to tell the boss about current negotiations.
  3. Heartfelt support to our hard-working bargaining team members.

We will award prizes to the top three best videos, and the three winners, as well as some honourable mentions, will be posted on the PSAC web site.

The prizes awarded will be gift certificates for items sold on the PSAC e-Boutique.

1st Prize:  $250 gift certificate
2nd Prize: $200 gift certificate
3rd Prize: $150 gift certificate

Contest rules:

  1. Videos must be no longer than three (3) minutes.
  2. Content can be humorous and satirical, but must be in good taste.  No videos containing racist, sexist, homophobic, anti-union and/or offensive content will be accepted.
  3. Entries will be judged on relevance of message, creativity and impact (measured by degree of “Wow!” factor).
  4. Entries can be any form or genre: action, comedy, horror, drama, documentary or vlog (i.e. video blog).
  5. Submissions by individual members will be accepted, but we strongly encourage collectively produced submissions (e.g. by locals, members from the same workplace or members of PSAC committees).
  6. PSAC National Board of Directors and staff may not enter the contest.
  7. Entries must be submitted in WMV (Windows Media Player) format and e-mailed to communications@psac-afpc.com.
  8. Deadline for submissions is December 1, 2008.
