Joint Learning Program Update
Over the past year, a lot of 'behind the scenes' work has been
done to re-establish the renamed PSAC-PSHRMAC JLP (formerly the
PSAC-TBS JLP).
The PSAC-PSHRMAC JLP Steering Committee, which is the decision-making
body of the program, has held two meetings and has established short-
and medium-term priorities for the JLP, including the delivery of
facilitator training and courses and a communications strategy.
A JLP Advisory Committee has also been struck to provide direction
and guidance on program and course content. This group held its
first meeting on February 8 and 9, 2006.
The JLP courses delivered during the last round have been updated
and are being translated. Soon, the program will be reconnecting
with the JLP facilitators trained in the last round and will be
recruiting new facilitators. Refresher training and training for
new facilitators will be held in the next few months.
Finally, there are now two co-directors for the JLP, one from the
PSAC and one from PSHRMAC.
Next Steps
In the next few months, the JLP will focus on staffing, re-establishing
the JLP Facilitators' Network, developing the web site and a communications
strategy, and planning the delivery of courses. Please consult the
PSAC and PSHRMAC
web sites for future announcements regarding the JLP.
